AFE athletes Jeremy Rae and Rob Denault are now the 1st & 2nd fastest Jr.runners in Canada. Jeremy earned the distinction of being #1 with a 3:42.86 finish in the 1500m at London on Friday evening.  Rob finished in a time of 3:45.87 which makes him the fastest Youth runner in Canada.. Chris Miedema was "rabbit" this week, reversing the role played by his training partner Jeremy in last week's 1500m (See next item below).   "We'll all be at Canadian Juniors in Moncton July 1st "

AFE Athletes Rob Denault, Stephen Hosier and Chris Miedema each brought home GOLD from the OFSAA Track and Field Championships in London. Rob Denault was 1st in the Senior Boys 1500m with a time of 3:50.19.  Stephen Hosier won the Senior Boys 3000m with a PB of 8:23.25 and placed 6th in the 1500m (3:54.86). Chris Miedema also had a PB of 1:52.51 with his 1st place finish in the SB 800m. Trent Corney threw for SILVER in the SB Javelin, then came 7th in the Discus. Evan Esselink earned BRONZE in the SB 1500m with a time of 3:52,34 and came fourth in the SB 3000m (8:32.68). Merid Seleshi was 5th in the SB 1500m and had an unfortunate DQ which nulified his 2nd place finish in the 800m. Jeff Archer Finished 6th in the OB Steeplechase and 12th in the SB 3000m.  Mariah Kelly and Emma Norman finished 8th in the Senior Girls 800m and 3000m respectively while Robert Asselstine was 10th in the SB 3000m and 19th in the 1500m.  Dylan Burns was 11th in the SB Long Jump while Chris Cauley also finished 11th in the Senior Boys High Jump.  Thomas Kellar was 13th in the Junior Boys 3000m while Garrett Rodley had a PB of 4:22.97 as he finished 20th in the Junior Boys 1500m.  Sebastian Diebel came 23rd in the Senior Boys 800m.  Congratulations to all of you for just making it to this prestigues Ontario Championships.

Chris Miedema needed 3:57 in the 1500m to solidify a scholarship at DePaul University in Chicago  He ran a PB of 3:55  at a twilight meet in London recently. Good work Chris! It's off to the windy city and the start of new challenges.
                    AFE Athlete  Garrett Rodley finished 1st place in the under 18 boys 2000m steeplechase and 2nd place in the 3000m at the Legion District G championships. (videos hereChris Cauley also earned a 1st place finish in the under 18 boys high jump while Trent Corney placed 2nd in the U18 100m. Each of them qualified for the Ontario Championship at Timmins in two weeks
                   AFE Athlete Jeremy Rae is now the "Canadian Champion" in the Junior Men's 1500m. Jeremy won the coveted GOLD MEDAL at the Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships In Moncton with a time of 3:52.07. AFE Rob Denault was BRONZE MEDALIST (Video HERE) Jeremy will now be heading to the World Junior Championships in two weeks. Kevin Bowman also qualified for World's winning GOLD in the hammer throw.. Trent Sayers won Silver in the 800m while. Chris Miedema finished 4th and Trevor Schiavone came 23rd.(Video HERE)  Both Jeremy and Chris contributed to their NRA team's SILVER MEDAL win in the 4x400m relay along with Kyle Varley and Dylan Brennand.(4x4 relay HERE)Liam Delaney finished 8th in the 3000m Steeplechase (Video HERE) and 22nd in the 5000m.
